When talking about indigenous own thinking, reference is usually made to traditional thinking, to the worldview, to own stories and other similar elements. But here I want to direct attention to a way of thinking that, while it is its own, is not traditional or comes from centuries; it is the thought of liberation that Manuel Quintín Lame expressed almost 100 years ago.

On one occasion, in a talk at the National University, the indigenous senator Jesús Piñacué, already at the end, when one of the attendees asked him what he thought of Quentin Lame as a warrior (because Piñacué had referred to him as a writer), he replied a very clear and significant way: «which warrior and which war ?, a lot of Indians armed with machetes, sticks and rubber bands was not a war».
