Intersecciones entre la antropología y los estudios culturales: El análisis sobre lo «político» y la política de nuestros estudios

Resumen

A pesar de su mutua caricaturización, la antropología y los estudios culturales comparten una serie de aproximaciones analíticas que podrían resultar en diálogos inmensamente fructíferos. En esta corta reflexión busco presentar algunos aportes provenientes de estos dos campos de estudio frente al análisis tanto teórico como empírico sobre «lo político» y el poder. En una primera parte retomo la relación entre cultura y poder como una de las sinergias más interesantes. Una segunda línea de discusión conjunta es la conceptualización de lo político como un problema de estudio amplio en el cual se incluyen prácticas cotidianas del lenguaje, del simbolismo, y de la estética, entre otros. Finalmente, una discusión que ha marcado tanto a la antropología como a los estudios culturales es la política de nuestros estudios, generando una reflexividad mutua frente al contexto desde el cual investigamos y escribimos, y a la apuesta que hacemos sobre acción y «activismo» en nuestra producción académica.
