Este artículo sostiene que la interseccionalidad plantea al feminismo islámico un enfoque útil para comprender las experiencias de vida de las mujeres musulmanas. Para hacerse verdaderamente emancipadora, sin embargo, la interseccionalidad debe combinarse con un enfoque decolonial. Si bien descentra la ontología liberal secular del feminismo occidental dominante y exige un análisis crítico de las estructuras globales que producen y reproducen las relaciones de desigualdad que afectan a las mujeres musulmanas, un enfoque interseccional decolonial puede llevar aún más lejos el campo en expansión del feminismo islámico.
