This book, written by the North American anthropologist Hugh Raffles, combines ethnographic, biographical and historical methods in a novel way to approach the construction and production of an Amazonian place called Igarapé Guariba (State of Amapá, Brazil). A highly recommended text for people interested in putting into practice or putting into operation what some call "transdisciplinarity", and this text has been described as a book on the environment, anthropology and cultural studies.
