I especially want to thank Claudia Mosquera for inviting me to get to know her book in detail, to make this presentation. I thank you not formally. Getting into him, into his stories, into his questions was truly an exhilarating task. The text is truly excellent and will undoubtedly be an obligatory reference for those who study on people of African descent, for those who design policies and especially for the communities themselves. My presentation draws marks throughout the 30 articles and does not personally name any of the authors. I hope I have collected your intentions in my cross-sectional presentation. Yes, I want to show the importance of the group of Afro-Colombian studies at CES, which articulates veteran researchers and a host of new voices on the subject, which are collected in the book. To all and to all my congratulations for the individual and collective achievement, especially to the editors for a task well done and so important for the social sciences of our country and for the academic community of the Faculty of Human Sciences.
