Contrary to most of the approaches associated with postcolonial studies currents and some aspects of the modernity / coloniality approach, this article argues the relevance of a heterarchic theory of power inspired by Foucault's lesser-known College de France Lessons to understand the articulations at different levels of the modern colonial world system.
