Ten years ago, Tabula Rasa was nothing more than a dream, a proposal that could be carried out and made it a reality, thanks to the indisputable support of Miguel García Bustamante, rector of the Universidad Mayor de Cundinamarca, who since he decided that The university should have a series of publications that present the research work of its teachers, as well as academic journals that put the university in contact with other research centers, contributing to the creation of knowledge networks and the dissemination of the same, put its greatest Endeavor to carry out this magazine, which is now one of the most recognized publications in the field of social sciences in Latin America.
This project has had contradictors and people willing to hinder its progress, but it has continued to exist thanks to the editorial and academic quality that has characterized the magazine, since Miguel always believed in the project, because as I mentioned from the beginning, he supported it always without doubts, knowledgeable of the rigorous work that has been carried out to extract each number of Tabula Rasa. On the other hand, since its inception, this publication has had a series of permanent collaborators, including of course, the members of the editorial and scientific committees, their translators and different editorial assistants, but we should point out and especially thank the great collaboration of Ramón Grosfoguel of the University of California, Berkeley, and Ulrich Oslender, of the University of Glasgow. An example of this is that this number has been armed by Ramón together with Julia Suárez-Krabbe, from Roskilde Universitet, and Montserrat Galcerán Huguet, from the Complutense University of Madrid. Now, it is time to thank two other people who have been at the forefront of the publication since the first issue, who have been my constant coworkers in the development of this magazine; First of all, my friend Eduardo Restrepo, from the Javeriana University, who has thrown his shoulder (to say the least) this editorial project and as co-editor of Tabula Rasa has been instrumental in the positioning of the magazine. Second, the person who has given him the visual identity, both in the printed and electronic versions, Johanna Orduz, who has created a friendly space for reading. These are the people who have built Tabula Rasa: Miguel, Ramón, Ulrich, Johanna, and mainly Eduardo, and I want to acknowledge my gratitude and deep respect for the work of each one of them, as well as my friendship and affection. This, which sounds goodbye, may be so, or perhaps not. Miguel, who has been the mentor of the magazine, says goodbye next October to the rectory of the University, after eight years of contributing to the construction of a different institution, which was facing the future and not anchored in the past. In this sense, it is my duty as editor to thank the opportunity he gave us to create this space of critical refection, which has allowed us to communicate to different researchers in Latin America, as well as to friends and colleagues from other parts of the world.
