Extractivisms have become acts of faith, as they seem to be immune to any evidence of its negative effects. Therefore, this article presents a brief overview of a political theology of extractivisms, understanding this as the sacred narratives, motives and “liturgical” celebrations allowing for establishing, legitimizing and justifying extractive strategies. Lastly, an introduction to the articles in these issue is given, which explore diverse features of faith and religion in present day extractivisms.
