    Sandew Hira,

    Sandew Hira, seudónimo de Dew Baboeram, es director del Instituto para la Investigación Científica (IISR, por sus siglas en inglés) en La Haya. IISR se dedica a los movimientos sociales contra el racismo y en favor de la decolonización en los Países Bajos y el Caribe. Produce análisis de los problemas que enfrentan los movimientos sociales y ofrece ideas en estrategia, táctica, organización y movilización. Estos se publican en el sitio web del IISR (www.iisr.nl) y en su boletín. IISR publica una serie de libros titulados Decolonizing The Mind con Amrit Publishers. Sandew Hira y el profesor Stephen Small (Universidad de California Berkeley) son los editores de la serie.

    This article is based on a research by the author entitled Decolonizing the Mind. Imagining a New World Civilization. The research presents a theoretical framework for Decolonizing the Mind that takes into account the contributions that different civilizations have made to knowledge production. This article discusses the different responses in Latin America to colonialism. It looks at decolonial concepts that have been produced by the social struggle of the people in Latin America.
