In this interview, which took place on April 27, 2018 at the Universidad del Rosario (Bogotá, Colombia), Jennifer Linares explores the content and context of Rebellion in the farm: biopolitics, zootechnics and domestication, book published by Iván Darío Ávila Gaitán (2017) in co-edition with From Below and the Latin American Institute of Animal Critical Studies. Throughout the conversation, the policy of knowledge that inspires the work will be explored, the meaning of veganism understood from a materialistic rather than a moral perspective, the idea of "way of life" in a non-anthropocentric or traditional humanist key, the place of animal in biopolitics and the intersectional functioning of human and animal racialization, as well as the hegemonic role of zootechnics in that context. The book constitutes an important reference for the emerging field of Animal Critical Studies in Latin America, not only because of the novelty of this type of studies in the region, but also because of its geopolitically located character and consequent ability to open new edges in the decolonial field and postcolonial.
