Introduction: At present, disorders due to consumption of psychoactive substances PAS are considered as a chronic disease because the onset, course, direction, and outcome is unpredictable in some cases and additionally they are multicausal disorders such as depression; according to data reported by the Addictions Center of Barcelona "the incidence of depression in patients with substance abuse ranges between 6% and 70% in SPA consumers". With this panorama it should be understood that the intervention must develop health promotion and disease prevention, with the emergence of the term biotechnology coined by Karl Ereky in 1917. Use and application of information and communications technologies (ICT) in the health and life sciences are vital for diagnosis, prevention, supervision, treatment. Objective: To develop software that allows to generate an alert for the early identification of depression associated with the consumption of psychoactive substances in adults, through the use of a previously validated ICT, during the year 2019. Methodology: Technological Research. Method: UWE models. Results: In this research proposal, progress will be made in the development of the prototype of the product for the early identification of depression in order to improve the clinical decision-making process, at the time of care, based on the information recorded in the software called MEASDEP (Measurement of depression in SPA consumers)
